Its a big World out there!

...well its half way through my working day. 9 hours done, another 9 to go! I hear this is common practice for those trying to establish an online presence among the many competitors out there - are we all barmy or what!

I'm confident the hard work will pay off - I have to say that though, don't I? - but I've always stuck to honesty as the best policy and being honest with myself, I know that with time and patience people will enjoy www.footyfirst.co.uk and our products.

Sure theres loads of memorabilia websites out there. In a bizarre way, this is the way I see it! So what if Tesco builds a new supermarket next to your butchers - if they haven't got, or can't source a unique type of meat that you sell, well then, you'll do just fine - because people are always going to want your unique meat.

There are many bigger and more established memorabilia and programme websites out there. But do they have what we stock? Nope. Are they displaying what they're selling in carefully prepared descriptions with High Res images? Nope. Researching our competitors, for comparable items, it already fills me with confidence (and anger) seeing how these sites are selling products at daft prices. Thats the only word for it really, daft. Because if they took 5 minutes out of their day, did a google search, they'd see straight away their perhaps pricing themselves out of potential customers. Who knows - maybe they do sell, and its us being daft with our prices!

So how do we price things? well it varies. There is a lot to consider when pricing an item of memorabilia. Most of the items are unique and/or one of a kind - so you don't have a price 'guide' or catalogue set in stone. We have to consider genuine factors which influence the price. These include the product condition, age, rarity, personal signatures and of course comparing (when we can) with competitors prices and undercutting them.
